The NIST socket meets UNI EN ISO 18082 standards; the socket is connected to the medical gas distribution system by a Ø10 mm. The socket is also available in the "free flow" version, without a built-in check valve. The socket is the final part of the compressed gas distribution system. The user can plug the relevant probes into the socket to use the gas.Each socket is specific for one type of gas. The sockets are manufactured with different profiles so sockets and probes cannot be swapped, each gas-specific probe will only fit into the same type of gas-specific socket. All materials are oxygen compatible, supplied clean and free of any traces of oil, grease or dust.
The product does not have a specific gas inlet connection, therefore the customer/installer/user must make sure the device is installed in the correct way and only used with the gas marked on the same.
